About Jenny

I am a Physics graduate from the University of Lincoln, where I achieved a 2:1 in my undergraduate degree. I'm very passionate about helping students realise that success in maths and physics is not about having a "maths brain" but about confidence, the right guidance, and learning in a way that works for them. Many students struggle simply because they haven't received the support they need or haven't been taught in a way that matches their learning style. I've experienced academic challenges myself, and I know first-hand how much of a difference the right approach can make. I'm here to change the narrative that "not everyone can do maths or physics" because with the right support, they absolutely can. I'm very enthusiastic, encouraging and genuinely committed to helping students reach their potential. I always work to create a learning environment that's positive, supportive, and tailored to the individual. I am currently preparing to begin a Masters in Medical Physics in autumn, and I'll be continuing to tutor alongside my studies. I'm committed to supporting my students throughout the year online.

About the lesson

I’m a patient and understanding tutor with a couple of years' experience working with both GCSE students and university students, particularly those transitioning from A-level to university-level study. I recognise that every student learns differently so I spend the first few sessions getting to know their strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. After this, I tailor each lesson to meet their specific needs and see their progress. My typical lesson length ranges from 1 to 2 hours — long enough to make meaningful progress without overwhelming the student. I’ve worked with students aged 14 to 25, but I’m open to teaching anyone with a genuine interest in improving their understanding of maths or physics. Whether you're preparing for GCSEs, aiming for top A-level grades, or tackling challenging university modules, I’m here to help.
