About Richard
I am an experienced physics teacher and tutor with a PhD and a long-standing background in teaching physics at the high school and introductory college level. My work focuses on helping students develop genuine understanding of physical principles through clear explanation and careful reasoning. I approach tutoring professionally and thoughtfully, tailoring each session to the student’s specific course and needs. Approach & Teaching Method
My approach emphasizes conceptual understanding and reasoning rather than memorization or simply “plugging numbers” into equations.
Typical Lesson Structure
A session begins with a brief discussion of the specific topic or problem the student is working on. We review the relevant physical principles, work through examples together, and apply them to the student’s coursework or questions. Sessions are paced deliberately to ensure understanding rather than coverage.
