With over 8 years of tutoring experience and an MSc in Medical Physics, I bring a deep and applied understanding of materials science physics to my lessons. My passion lies in exploring how atomic-scale imperfections influence the properties and performance of real-world materials. I focus on bridging theory with practice, helping students visualise and comprehend the invisible yet powerful mechanisms that shape the behaviour of matter. In my sessions, we dive into topics such as crystal defects, grain boundaries, diffusion, and phase transitions, emphasising both their theoretical basis and industrial relevance. I use visual examples, diagrams, and simulations to make these complex ideas intuitive and memorable. For instance, studying phase diagrams of steel allows us to connect thermodynamic principles with practical engineering outcomes. This approach ensures that every concept is anchored in a real material or process. I have had the privilege of guiding university students and researchers eager to deepen their understanding of the physical principles governing engineered materials. My teaching emphasises critical thinking, visualisation, and curiosity-driven exploration rather than rote memorisation. Each lesson is carefully structured to build both conceptual clarity and analytical confidence. Ultimately, my goal is to help you become a well-rounded physicist—one who can connect the microscopic origins of defects and transitions to the macroscopic behaviour of materials.
