About Emma
I am a second-year physics student at university. My experience with teaching ranges from volunteering in year 8 maths classes during sixth form and teaching sign language in primary schools with the sign language society at university. I achieved A*s in both maths and physics at GCSE and achieved an A in physics and an A* in maths at A-level. I also chose to do an AS in further maths at A-level where I got an A.

I'm looking to give maths and physics lessons to students studying at GCSE level and hope to create a comfortable environment where students feel free to ask any questions they aren't comfortable saying in a larger class. I would like to cater to each lesson to the individual's needs and focus on topics that are difficult for them. My maths lessons would mostly involve working through questions that either the student has brought to me or that I have collected on a particular topic. Physics involves more discussion of processes and experiments as well as going through practice questions which I would like to teach through the use of whiteboards and diagrams because I am a very visual learner myself. My aim is to break down questions into smaller manageable steps and explain problems in language that is easier to understand than the textbooks. Additionally, I would like to discuss and encourage students to experiment with different revision techniques that will help them throughout their education journey.
