About Holly

Hello there! I imagine if you're reading this you probably have two questions;
1 - Is she well qualified to teach me?
2- Are we likely to get on well?

Let's answer question 1 first. I have 2.5 years experience working as an assistant lecturer with Monash University. During this time my supervisor was an educational researcher, hence the teaching methods I learnt and practiced as a tertiary anatomy educator are evidence-based. In regards to my ability to provide tutoring if you are in high school and looking for assistance with your French, I have studied French at a VCE level and undergraduate level at the University of Melbourne, University of Queensland and the Institut Français in Marrakech. I have also travelled extensively through France and Morocco.

Question 2 is really up to you to decide! It's always tough to describe your own personality so I will let you know how others have described me in the past. I have been called easygoing, honest, creative, friendly and practical. As a tutor, I would like to be seen as a peer or team-mate. We are both working toward the same goal - to further your learning. I'm not an authoritative figure. I'm just trying to offer some support.

About the lesson

I employ a very interactive style of teaching/tutoring. My teaching style is informed by my time working as an assistant lecturer with Monash University's Centre for Human Anatomy Education. My experience as a language tutor comes from my time living in France and Morocco as a student.

I will ask you lots of questions and encourage you to explore a wide variety of learning tools and resources. You're unlikely to get many long-winded lectures from me. I'm much more likely to try to teach you through discussion, an interactive drawing task, or perhaps building a model. My goal is to empower you to become your own best teacher.

I'm available for anatomy tutoring for undergraduate university students as well as english and french tutoring for secondary students from years 7 to 12. My tutoring sessions run for 1 hour and I will typically ask you to set a goal for the hour e.g. I would like to understand the azygos venous system and it's clinical implications or I would like to develop my paragraph structure for an analytical essay.
