About Ben

**Please note, I am currently not taking on any new students**

Ben is passionate about piano playing and the teaching of this amazing instrument. He has studied extensively with Professor of piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Penelope Roskell, author of “The Complete Pianist”- who is a specialist in healthy piano technique. He has also studied body mapping under the tutelage of Bridget Jankowski, author of the newly revised "What Every Musician needs to Know about the Body." Ben has also studied the Alexander Technique with Judith Kleinman and is a member of the European Piano Teachers Association UK.

About the lesson

He teaches students of all ages and levels, from beginners to diploma level, ensuring that the students are enjoying both the repertoire they are learning and the improvements that they are making to their technique and coordination. He has over 10 years of teaching experience and all lessons are tailored to what the student would like to personally achieve with this fascinating instrument. Lessons last either 30 or 45 minutes. He is a certified teacher of the Roskell method for beginner, intermediate and advanced students and holds the Licenciate of Trinity College London diploma in Piano performance (LTCL) with distinction. Online lessons take place on Zoom or Teams. In person lessons take place at his teaching studio in Devon.

Ben has fully recovered from a playing relating injury (RSI) using the Roskell method and Body Mapping. He now enjoys helping pianists who are experiencing pain/tension/injury in their playing on their recovery journey. Ben offers and initial free 30 minute consultation lesson.

Lessons are offered on a "pay as you go" basis.

1x30 minute lesson is £20.80
1x45 minute lesson is £31.20
1x60 minute lesson is £41.60

Lessons can be scheduled when the student desires and frequency of lessons is entirely up to the student, however he finds weekly/bi-weekly lessons prove to be best for those who wish to progress quickly.
