About Peter

Hello, my name is Peter. I am a piano and cello teacher living in Reading. Originally from Belfast, and graduate of Queen's University Belfast, I have tutored music in schools and privately for over ten years.

Before moving to England, I was an organ scholar at St Peter's Cathedral for three years and won the Barbour Cup at the Holywood Music Festival.

I am a passionate musician and educationalist. For the past two years, I have been the Education Governor for one of Northern Ireland's largest primary schools.

30 minute lessons are available.

Piano students will also be taught on Yamaha's state of the art CLP 685, the flagship in their digital piano range. This offers students Yamaha's finest GrandTouch piano and sound system. Combined together it gives the ultimate concert grand piano experience

About the lesson

I was a peripatetic music teacher in a number of primary schools in Belfast and Lisburn for over 5 years. All my students were successful in their ABRSM exams and have continued their studies. Last year, I completed my PGCE at Reading University. This allowed me to thoroughly understand how to adapt my teaching to the various learning styles of different students. It also gave me invaluable insight into how to motivate students and encourage their desire to learn (and practice!).

Peter has been extremely helpful in giving my Son his confidence in Geography. An experienced Tutor who can adapt his style to each student. He knows how to identify weak points very quickly and within a short period of time he starts filling the gaps. He's an extremely nice person to deal with and enjoyable. He really does care about his students. Highly recommended.

Peter was a fantastic geography tutor! His lessons were clear, engaging, and really helped me understand topics I had struggled with before. He explained everything in a way that made sense and was always patient and encouraging. I definitely felt more confident going into my exams thanks to his support! Highly recommend!

Peter tutored my son Daniel through his A levels, and he just received an A today. We are so pleased with his dedication and support. Peter really went above and beyond. Not only is Peter an excellent tutor, but he was instrumental in building up my son's confidence both academically and in his day-to-day life. We saw our son come out of his shell more and have more faith in his ability to do well. As a result, Daniel was more committed to his revision and school work. Thank you, Peter!
