About Kyra
I am a piano educator with 13 years of teaching experience and a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy. My academic training deepened my understanding of how students learn music physically, emotionally, and cognitively. Over the years, I have guided learners of varied ages and backgrounds, helping them develop confidence, consistency, and musical fluency through thoughtful instruction. My teaching philosophy centers on clarity, encouragement, and long-term growth. I believe students thrive when they understand the purpose behind every exercise and musical decision. Lessons are carefully adapted to individual goals, whether focused on performance, enjoyment, or foundational skill-building. I prioritize healthy technique, musical awareness, and steady confidence. Outside teaching, I remain engaged with repertoire study, pedagogy research, and collaborative music-making. Teaching piano is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow from uncertainty into expressive, confident musicians. Piano lessons become transformative when learners develop both physical ease and musical understanding from the beginning. My lessons focus on building strong finger independence, relaxed hand posture, reading fluency, rhythmic accuracy, and expressive tone control. Students are guided to understand how technique supports musical intention rather than treating it as a mechanical task. Beginners work on coordination, basic reading, steady tempo, and simple repertoire that builds confidence without pressure. Intermediate learners develop scale fluency, chord awareness, voicing balance, and stylistic interpretation across genres. Advanced learners refine articulation, phrasing depth, dynamic control, and performance preparation. Every lesson is structured yet flexible.
Lessons are carefully paced to suit individual learning styles. Technical exercises are always connected to musical pieces, ensuring relevance and motivation. Rhythm training, sight reading, and hands-on listening activities are integrated consistently. Mistakes are treated as learning tools, not failures. Feedback focuses on clarity, musical intention, and sustainable progress.
