About Maia
I hold a B.Mus in Piano Performance and Music Pedagogy and have 10 years of experience teaching piano to students of all ages and abilities. My teaching combines technical precision with expressive instruction, helping learners build skill, confidence, and musical interpretation. I tailor lessons to individual goals and abilities, ensuring each student progresses effectively while enjoying the learning process. My teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, creativity, and personalized instruction. Lessons include technical exercises, repertoire study, improvisation, and performance guidance. I encourage students to explore music creatively while building solid technical foundations. Outside teaching, I perform regularly, study new repertoire, and stay engaged with music education research to enhance lessons. Witnessing students develop skill, confidence, and artistic expression is highly rewarding. I am dedicated to fostering both technical mastery and a personal connection to music in every learner.

My piano lessons are designed to cultivate both technical skill and artistic expression. I teach finger independence, scales, chords, sight-reading, improvisation, repertoire interpretation, and rhythmic precision. Lessons integrate theory with practice, emphasizing expressive phrasing, tone production, and stylistic understanding. I provide personalized feedback, structured exercises, and creative challenges, fostering confidence and musicality. Each session balances technical mastery with expressive exploration, encouraging students to connect emotionally with the music and develop a personal artistic voice.
Beginners focus on basic technique, simple repertoire, reading skills, and finger coordination. Intermediate learners explore more complex pieces, improvisation, dynamic control, phrasing, and musical interpretation. Advanced students refine performance skills, tackle advanced repertoire, develop stylistic versatility, and prepare for recitals or examinations. Lessons combine structured practice with creative exploration to encourage both mastery and musicality.
Piano study enhances discipline, focus, creativity, and emotional intelligence. Students learn to interpret music, express individuality, and perform confidently. My goal is to guide learners in developing technical proficiency, expressive musicality, and a lifelong appreciation for piano performance.
