About Mariann

I have been on stage in one form or the other since the age of 5, and have performed professionally and non-professionally for many years. You could put me in the "more mature" category (NOT old hahaha!!). I love helping students grow their musical creativity and proficiency. I have a Grade 6 in piano and Grade 5 in Music Theory. But most of all, I can improvise and can teach you to do the same. I am a vocalist who accompanies herself on piano. So, my main focus is not to just learn to play an instrument, but rather becoming a well-rounded musician.

About the lesson

Learning music should be enjoyable! Music should be fun and a way for you to express yourself creatively. Are you a newby? Or an old hand? There is always something new to learn in music!
Do you want to expand your musical horizons and sometimes play with other musos? Or maybe just understand what you are looking at when looking at a piece of music? Or even improve your pitch when singing in the shower?

Mariann is a women with integrity in everything she does. I have known Mariann professionally and personally since the late 1080’s.

Mariann has one of the finest voices in South Africa. Her voice is trained and flawless. She knows how to patiently guide singers to find “ their voice”.

Mariann’s talent on the piano and keyboards is phenomenal. She can glide across the keys like butter. When I first met Mariann back in the 80’s she only read score music, then she learned chords and improvisation.

Mariann also is a prolific songwriter and can guide an artist in that direction. Mariann is also technologically savvy. She knows how to run the latest sound equipment and along side her talented husband Thomas they can record music for budding artists.

Mariann is the whole package and you cannot go wrong being under her tutoring magic.
