About Jessica Ji
I have played the piano, organ and timpani for recitals, accompaniment and group performances for 10+ years. I completed my ABRSM grade 8 piano (2020) and grade 5 music theory (2016) exams with distinction. I studied NCEA music up to level 3 in high school, gaining an excellence endorsement every year. If you need help with the external exams - theory or aural, internal assessments, or composition portfolios, I have first-hand experience completing them.

Whether you are a beginner or have played for many years, I can help you improve your musical performance, theory and composition skills. I have taught beginners with a variety of methods, and it is up to the student to choose what and how they want to learn:
• Do you want to learn to read musical notes or chords?
• What is your preferred style of music? E.g. classical, contemporary, songs, jazz, etc.
I have tutored students from primary school up to year-1 university-level in mathematics, calculus, chemistry, physics, music, and piano lessons with 4+ years of experience. I am passionate about helping people and find tutoring rewarding to inspire students to do well, find techniques to make studying more enjoyable, and ultimately improve their grades.
It is preferred for students to come to the CBD for tutoring. I can also do online Zoom lessons or meet you at a library or cafe (for music theory lessons). There will be a charge for further distances to cover time and transport.
