About Naomi
I have over a decade 9 years of experience teaching piano and hold a Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition with a piano emphasis. I am also a performing pianist and composer. I approach teaching as guiding students on a lifelong musical journey. Lessons focus on improvisation, spontaneous composition, and creative exploration. I work with beginners and advanced pianists alike. My goal is to develop both technical skill and original expression. I help students craft unique pieces and experiment with their musical ideas. Each session combines theory, performance, and composition. Lessons are tailored to student interests and aspirations. I emphasize creativity, curiosity, and expressive confidence. Students learn to connect skill with artistry. Together, we explore music as an evolving, personal journey.

My teaching approach combines piano performance with practical music theory. Students explore chord progressions, inversions, and harmonic analysis on the keyboard. I emphasize applying theory to improvisation, composition, and expressive playing. I work with exam takers and classical performers to build both technical skill and theoretical knowledge. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and strengths. I provide clear explanations, demonstrations, and exercises. Students gain confidence applying theoretical concepts in real music. I highlight patterns, harmonic relationships, and musical structure. Lessons balance technique with creativity and exploration. Together, we develop a foundation for composition and improvisation. I encourage curiosity and experimentation at every stage. Lessons are interactive, engaging, and practical. Students leave equipped to play and create confidently.
