About Reya

I’m a guitar tutor with 5+ years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering with a concentration in guitar performance. My lessons focus on helping students develop improvisational fluency in jazz, blues, and fusion styles. I teach students how to build solos using modal scales, arpeggios, and classic bebop vocabulary. Lessons are personalised, supportive, and goal-oriented—designed for learners at the intermediate level and beyond. I’ve helped aspiring professionals prepare for gigs, jam sessions, and recording sessions with confidence. We break down dominant seventh theory and how it shapes melodic phrasing. You’ll learn to hear changes, build solo ideas, and create music that speaks with authenticity. I guide students through both ear-based and theory-based approaches. About the lesson

My guitar method is designed for students who want to move from bedroom playing to the stage. I focus on ensemble skills, band rehearsal readiness, and performing with presence. We cover the technical and musical habits that help you play well with others. Timing, listening, and clear communication are emphasised from the start. I also guide students through live performance situations—how to prepare, what to expect, and how to troubleshoot under pressure. We practise real-world scenarios like setting up quickly, adjusting tone, and working with different musicians. For fingerstyle players, I help translate your skills into collaborative settings. I also specialise in teaching adults who are learning later in life or returning to music after a break. No matter your starting point, you’ll feel supported and challenged. Each lesson includes interactive play, reflection, and planning for progress. You’ll learn not just what to play, but how to play it in sync with others. We'll get you ready to perform with clarity, energy, and style. It’s your time to shine on stage.
