About Lucious
I’m Lucious Crawford, an 18-year-old musician, student, and aspiring professional based in the Bronx. I was born in Washington, D.C., where my passion for music started at just three years old. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills as a saxophonist, performing for over a decade and creating music that blends experimental and conceptual jazz with influences from R&B, hip-hop, and world music. Whether I’m performing on stage, collaborating with fellow musicians, or working on my next project, I’m driven by a desire to push boundaries, tell stories through sound, and leave a lasting impact on my audience.

I learned jazz through fun and listening. When I was younger, the way to learn jazz was to listen to the greats, learn from them by ear, and then play and play until you just got it! I plan to bring that sort of idea into the modern day, and make sure that the people who I teach do all that and have fun while doing it!
