I’m Elizabeth, a tutor with over 15 years of professional experience and a Master of Science, offering supportive and engaging tutoring in History and English. I also hold a Master Facilitation Certification, which shapes my student-centered approach—encouraging discussion, curiosity, and confidence in learning. I combine academic training with real-world experience to help students better understand course material while strengthening critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills. As a policy professional with 15+ years of experience and a Master Facilitation Certification, I focus on creating engaging sessions where students feel comfortable asking questions, thinking critically, and actively participating in the learning process.
A typical lesson begins with identifying the student’s goals, coursework, or areas of challenge. Using facilitation techniques, I guide discussion, break down complex material into manageable pieces, and encourage students to articulate their understanding. Sessions may include reviewing readings, analyzing sources, organizing essays, or practicing writing and discussion skills, always paced to the student’s needs.
What sets me apart is my ability to facilitate learning rather than lecture. My professional background and facilitation training allow me to adapt to different learning styles, ask thoughtful questions, and help students develop confidence, clarity, and analytical skills. I connect history and English to real-world contexts, making the material more relevant and engaging.
Lessons are open to students of all levels, including middle school, high school, college, and adult learners. I support history and English coursework, essay writing, exam preparation, and general academic skill-building, tailoring each session to the student’s goals and experience level.
