About Reet

I'm 20 years old, currently residing in Delhi. I have an experience of teaching students sociology, psychology, political science, history in my school time as well as teaching in a number of NGOs such as Jagriti Foundation etc.

About the lesson

My teaching method is very strictly concept-based. Since I prefer teaching senior classes which are the 11th and 12th, it is basically focused on their board exams. I don't believe cramming up everything but do limit myself to the prescribed textbooks since writing the book language always fetches more marks and using the various guides only confuses the children. I also translate what I'm teaching to an easier language, maybe an easier level of English or sometimes Hindi, because it's important that the child understands the concept and grasps what's being taught and they can then put it in any language and remember. It's also very important that I keep repeating as I teach so that the child does not forget anything. I make my own question papers and schedule weekly tests without fail to know the child's progress and where there's scope for improvement. Since I'm myself a student it hasn't been a long time since I was giving exams so it works as a plus point for me as I know the marking tricks and how to write answers.

I was taught Sociology from Reet last year, and she is an amazing teacher. Being from college herself, she understood exactly what concepts I needed to work on and why I was facing issues with them, she was upto date with all the recent happenings so all the examples she gave me while teaching also made a lot of sense. I would definitely recommend her to all of you 11th and 12th students, especially for Sociology.
