About Abigail
I am a friendly and approachable researcher with a strong academic background in sociology and human rights. I have an MA in Human Rights from UCL and am currently completing a PhD at the University of Sussex. I’m passionate about helping students feel confident in their ideas and develop their own voice.

I take a student-led approach to teaching, building on your interests, strengths and existing knowledge. Lessons are collaborative and supportive, creating a safe space to ask questions, explore different perspectives and be curious about the big questions that sociology and human rights raise.
I tailor each lesson to the student, using discussion, real-world examples, key academic concepts and guided questions to develop understanding and confidence. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I can adapt this depending on your needs.
I have an MA in Human Rights from UCL and am currently completing a PhD in Human Rights at the University of Sussex. I also have professional experience in research, human rights, social justice and domestic abuse services. I welcome students from GCSE and A-level through to undergraduate level, as well as anyone simply interested in learning more about sociology or human rights.
