About Florence

Hello! Nice to meet you, my name is Florence. A former laboratory technician, I returned to my studies to become a teacher of French as a foreign language. After obtaining this diploma, I went to live in Japan for almost a year where I was able to have my first experiences as a teacher with more than 40 different students. Back in France, I would like to continue in this direction with a more local audience.

To introduce myself a little more personally, I really enjoy Japanese culture, literature, traveling, and hiking. I speak fluent English and have an A2 level in Japanese. I am mainly self-taught with regular conversation classes. I also have a dog, Saku, who I can talk about for hours!

About the lesson

A graduate of the DAEFLE, I returned to France following a working holiday visa in Japan where I taught French for almost a year.

My methodology is simple, in my opinion to be able to use a language you have to practice it. I adapt my teaching method according to the specific needs of my student and their way of learning. The first lesson is always a discussion about your objective with a brief check of your level then we discuss together how the lessons will be organized (always according to your objectives). However, I try to structure these lessons around important conversation practice. Knowing when to use the "future antérieur" is good, but you have to know how to use it in a given situation.

I also offer coaching for self-taught French learning. For 40 minutes, we discuss in detail your goals, your background with French, your learning style, and how to make sure this method works. Then, I send you a detailed report of our meeting with a recommended study plan.

As a former microbiology laboratory technician, I also specialize in scientific French. I can help you learn the French concepts and vocabulary needed to study or work in a scientific field, particularly biology.

Classes are open to students of all ages and levels. Class duration can also be tailored to suit your schedule.
