About Kevin
Hi! My name is Kevin Frederick Bamulutira and I'm a college freshman at Dallas Baptist University studying Pre-medical biology. Throughout elementary and middle school, I had a big problem with math and science: they just didn't make sense. I'd always stare at math problems and wonder if I'll even use them in real life, or if they were made up just to make school harder. But then I met a teacher who made math a whole lot easier to understand and I finally started seeing how math connects to the most basic tasks in life, such as taking a shower (did you know the water you use is measured by volume through a system developed by engineers who once struggled to add 10 + 1?). It turns out there isn't such a thing as a math person, and as long as you have the right attitude towards the subject, you'll do great! Over the past 7 years, I haven't failed a math class, and I try my best to make sure that I help others reach their goals of passing math and getting rid of their math anxiety.

On the first day of tutoring my students, I give them a short quiz to assess their mathematical strengths and weaknesses. I then build a weekly schedule based on those factors using a series of lectures, videos, and hands-on activities such as drawings and other projects to strengthen their understanding of the subject. Math is the science of numbers but is primarily based on natural processes in our everyday lives, which is why I adapt my methods of teaching to what I observe to work best for the student. My lessons are for anyone in 10th grade or younger who finds trouble understanding math concepts or has math anxiety (it happens to the best of us).
