About Emilia
I'm Emilia, I'm 26 years old and come from Toronto, Canada. I've been in the UK for four and a half years now, with no plans to leave any time soon! I've always loved teaching and helping students meet their goals, especially when they get those 'aha' moments when a challenging concept clicks. Looking forward to meeting with you :)

I am a seasoned tutor with a dynamic and interactive teaching style. My approach centres around fostering engaging discussions and using visual aids and analogies to enhance the learning experience. I typically begin sessions by addressing specific problems or questions students may have, and allow this to guide the direction of our lessons. My tutoring sessions typically range from 1 to 2 hours. In a 2-hour session, I may cover two subjects for an hour each or allocate one hour for a lesson and the other for guided practice problems. This flexibility allows me to adapt to the unique needs and preferences of each student. With a bachelor's degree in pre-medical sciences from Duke University and a master's degree in psychology from UCL, I bring a solid educational foundation to my tutoring practice. I have been actively involved in tutoring for approximately 8 years, starting when I was in secondary school. I like to tutor maths, chemistry, biology, and psychology, although I've also tutored English. I typically teach secondary and primary school students. My multidisciplinary background allows me to provide comprehensive support across various subjects, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
