About Lyra
I am an experienced piano tutor with 11 years of teaching and a record of successfully guiding more than 300 students across high school, college, and adult levels. My passion for teaching comes from seeing students grow and enjoy music with confidence. I believe that every student can learn piano if guided with patience, clarity, and the right approach. My teaching philosophy is based on simple communication, strong support, and flexible teaching methods. I understand that each student learns differently, so I adjust my lessons to match their needs and learning style. I focus on building a strong foundation in rhythm, technique, finger movement, and sight-reading, while also helping students enjoy music they personally like. I use real-life examples, demonstrations, and practical exercises to make learning easier. I encourage students to set goals and track their progress, whether they want to learn classical pieces, pop songs, film themes, or prepare for music exams. Many of my students have improved their performance skills, gained better timing, and learned to play confidently in front of others. My lessons also include music theory, ear training, and expression so students can understand the full picture of piano playing. I aim to create a warm and supportive space where learning feels enjoyable and meaningful. No matter the student’s age or level, I am committed to helping them discover their musical potential.

My Piano teaching approach is centred on communication, adaptability, and practical learning. I believe each student learns differently, so I adjust my explanations, exercises, and examples based on their learning style. Some students learn best through listening, others through reading or doing. By understanding their style, I create lessons that are comfortable, simple, and effective. In addition to Piano playing, I teach related subjects like Music Theory, Ear Training, Sight-Reading, Finger Strengthening, Chord Progressions, and Rhythm Patterns. These subjects support students in becoming well-rounded musicians. I use real-life musical examples and small case studies from famous performers or everyday practice situations so students can connect theory with actual piano playing. I keep my lessons organised and communicate clearly, helping students stay motivated and focused. I also introduce different musical styles, allowing them to explore classical pieces, pop songs, and creative improvisation. My goal is to guide each learner with patience, practical strategies, and meaningful learning experiences so they can grow confidently at their own pace.
