About Karen

I'm an ASU Alumni who majored in Medical Laboratory Science and Medical Studies. I have over 4 years of tutoring experience from elementary math to high school/college math. I've also taken too many science classes to count. The way I learn in school is by understanding the information like I need to teach it to someone, so I am detail orientated and thorough with my explanations. I've worked as a peer academic leader for 3.5 years to mentor college students and I worked as a behavioral technician shortly. I enjoy working with students of all ages. My favorite part of tutoring is understanding how my students learn best and catering my lessons to them. I can create my own materials to tutor on a specific topic, or we can work through homework problems together.

About the lesson

Take learning at your own pace and enjoy engaging lessons. Work on problems that you choose or practice questions that are specifically curated to your needs. Show me your thought process and learning style. Build confidence because you know more than you think you know. I break down larger topics into smaller subtopics that build on one another so that you're not overwhelmed.
