About James
I am a dedicated French tutor with 19 years of experience supporting students across all proficiency levels, having successfully taught approximately 150–200 learners. My teaching approach is centred on personalised learning, where I design each lesson to align with the student’s individual goals, pace, and learning preferences.
I focus on building a strong foundation in grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation while also encouraging active communication through real-life conversations and practical exercises. By incorporating interactive techniques such as role-playing and guided discussions, I ensure that students remain engaged and confident in their progress.
I am committed to creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable to learn and improve. My goal is to help learners achieve fluency and long-term confidence in French.

My approach to teaching French centres on flexibility, empathy, compassion, communication, and collaboration, allowing me to create a balanced and engaging learning experience. I design lessons that are tailored to each student’s needs, helping them stay motivated while building their skills step by step.
By using empathy and compassion, I create a safe space where students feel confident to participate and improve. Communication is emphasised through regular interaction, with a focus on developing strong speaking and listening abilities.
Collaboration is incorporated through interactive activities such as conversations, role-plays, and real-world scenarios. In addition to French, I include grammar, vocabulary development, and cultural understanding to ensure a complete and meaningful learning experience.
