About Abasiama

I am an educator who is deeply passionate about supporting children, especially those who may be struggling or feeling left behind in their learning journey.

I understand that learning can sometimes feel overwhelming for a child, and my goal is to create a space where they feel safe, supported, and encouraged to try again without fear.

I chose to teach because I have seen how the right support at the right time can completely change a child’s confidence and attitude towards learning.

It is very important to me that children do not begin to see themselves as “not good enough” simply because they need more time or a different approach to understand.

I believe every child is capable of learning when they are taught in a way that suits them.

That is why I focus on building strong foundations, patience, and emotional reassurance, so that each child can grow not only academically, but also in confidence.

My aim is to help every child I work with feel proud of their progress and develop a more positive relationship with learning.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centered on creating a safe, calm, and supportive learning environment where children feel comfortable, understood, and confident to learn at their own pace.

I believe that many learning challenges, especially in reading and literacy, are not a reflection of a child’s ability, but of missing foundational skills that can be gently rebuilt.

I use a structured yet flexible teaching approach, focusing on phonics, blending, reading fluency, and comprehension.

Lessons are carefully paced to reduce frustration and build confidence through small, meaningful successes. I incorporate multi-sensory learning techniques, allowing children to engage through listening, speaking, reading, and writing, which supports deeper understanding and retention.

Each lesson typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the child’s age and attention span. Sessions are thoughtfully structured to include review, guided learning, practice, and positive feedback, ensuring children feel supported throughout.

I have experience supporting early years and primary learners (ages 4–10), including children who may be struggling academically, feeling behind, or losing interest in learning.

My focus is on identifying learning gaps and rebuilding skills step by step in a way that feels manageable and encouraging.

Above all, my goal is to help children feel emotionally secure, capable, and confident, so they can engage with learning more positively and develop strong academic foundations for the future.
