About Kanika

Hi! I’m Kanika, a university student at Queen Margaret University studying Business Management with Finance, with a strong academic background in Science through the CBSE curriculum.

I genuinely enjoy helping students understand subjects that initially seem difficult or confusing. I believe that every student learns differently, so I try to create a comfortable environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes and learn without feeling pressured.
I achieved 94.6% in Class 9, 92% in Class 10 and 91% in Class 11, alongside 7.5 overall in IELTS, including 8.5 in Reading and 8.0 in Listening.

I mainly teach Primary Science and Biology, while also supporting younger secondary and GCSE students. My goal is simple: to make learning easier to understand, more enjoyable and something students can feel confident about.

About the lesson

I believe children learn best when they understand why something works rather than simply memorising it. My lessons are friendly, interactive and adapted to each student's individual learning style and level.

I start by understanding what the student already knows and identifying the areas they find difficult. I then break complex topics into smaller, simple ideas and explain them using examples, questions and real-life situations. Throughout the lesson, I encourage students to ask questions and explain concepts back to me so I can make sure they genuinely understand them.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes and usually includes a short review of previous learning, introduction of the new topic, guided practice and a recap at the end. I can also provide practice questions or simple tasks for students to work on between lessons when appropriate.

I have experience providing one-to-one online Science support to a GCSE student in London. Over approximately two months, I helped the student work through areas they were struggling with, build their understanding and become more confident with Science. The student subsequently achieved a GCSE grade 4 in Science.

I mainly offer lessons for primary students aged 7–12, particularly in Science and Biology, as well as Science support for younger secondary and GCSE students.

My aim is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them become more confident, independent learners who understand what they are studying. Package rate will vary for the students on board.
