About Tia
Pre University: IB 43/45 HL Biology 7, Chemistry 7, Economics 7 SL Mathematics 7, Chinese 7, English Language & Literature 6 Undergraduate: Tia graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience. Passionate about pediatric health, her thesis aimed to investigate specific neural mechanisms behind withdrawal in opioid addiction in adolescents. She also received the Princeton 1978 Foundation Award in recognition for her dedication to service and her project aimed at improving breakfast availability for school children in South Australia. In addition, Tia represented Princeton and Duke in Track and Field as a D1 athlete. Post-Graduate Background: Tia graduated from the Duke University School of Medicine with a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences in 2024. She conducted research on vitamin supplementation and ultrasound therapy for muscle injury treatment. Professional Experience: Tia worked as a research assistant in several labs and institutions working on a range of projects and publications investigating: The neural mechanisms of interpersonal communication, nutrition in school children, drug resistance in malaria treatments, and women’s health in sports. Tia is also a certified EMT, who worked to provide emergency medical care in the emergency department and ambulances serving North Carolina.
