About Ashley
Thoughtful, emotive, and dynamic; Ashley Hutton is an Australian saxophone player and multi-instrumentalist. Throughout his young career, he’s shared the stage and studio with award-winning artists such as Tower of Power, Stonebwoy, Nicki Bomba (John Butler Trio, Bustamento), Kita Alexander, Thando Sikwila, Jude York, Blake O’Connor, and JUNO.
Working with these artists has led him to perform at venues and festivals nationally and abroad, including the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Brisbane Festival, Jammin' Festival (Syd, Bris), Woodford Folk Festival, CMC Rocks, among others.
As an educator, Ashley fosters and encourages his students in an exploratory, patient, and creative environment. He nurtures this student's passion for music making, inspiring self-confidence through finding their voice on the instrument and seeing steady improvement. Since graduating from university, Ashley has held positions at St. Joseph's College Gregory Terrace, and at Creative Kidz as an instrumental music teacher.
Since moving to Brisbane from the Sunshine Coast to study at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University (QCGU) from 2019-2021, Ashley has had the privilege of studying under industry-leading musicians Dr. Stephen Newcomb, Dr. Louise Denson, Dr. Jeffrey Usher, James Sandon and, Jeff Reid. After two years of work as a professional musician and teacher, Ashley is returning to the QCGU in 2024 to undertake his 4th year of performance, intending to study for his Masters in Performance in New York.

About Me:
I bring a wealth of experience and passion to teaching the art of the saxophone. I’ve been providing engaging saxophone lessons to students for the past 5 years. My playing has led me to perform all around Australia and the Pacific, along with completing my Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium at Griffith University in 2021.

I wholeheartedly recommend Ashley Hutton as a saxophone teacher. Not only is he a terrific player, he is a wonderful person, teacher and a dear friend.
