About Holly

The main thing I want you to feel during your lessons is completely comfortable enough to make mistakes, not hit the right note, crack, make a weird sound, all of this is 100% okay! My lessons are much more like workshops where we will work together to talk about the character, what they're feeling, where they are and figure out what the best acting choices are. As for singing technique I have lots of different methods and ways of thinking which will help you vocally perform your song amazingly and wow an audition panel.

About the lesson

Depending on your experience I will work to give you a detailed and personalised singing warm-up in order to both work on improving your vocal technique and giving you a warm-up you can use for all auditions. We will then work on your song choices which I can also help with if you are struggling to pick something that suits you. In some cases I may be able to provide sheet music (female only) from my own personal collection. With your songs my focus is on both singing technique and acting through song. I have worked with colleges extensively and know what they want to see in auditions. Working on how you perform the song and tell the story is equally as important as how you sound so that will be a huge focus of the classes. I offer lessons of half an hour, an hour and two hours. I have a full enhanced DBS and Chaperone licence. I have been teaching drama and singing at various Theatre schools for over a year. I am still very much involved with Mountview and recently represented them at the UCAS Create Your Future fair.

Perfect! As an adult learner with little formal training and a goal of performing live and recording pop/rock music, I've had a great experience being tutored by Holly and would highly recommend her as a vocal coach.

From the first time we spoke, Holly has been eager to learn about my goals, motivations, musical preferences, current singing ability, schedule and specific needs. We had a complimentary introductory lesson where Holly listened, gave good feedback as to things I was doing well and areas I needed to improve, and also some pointers to work on ahead of lessons starting.

This level of expertise, conscientiousness and effort is reflected in the quality of Holly's lessons. They are well structured and tailored to my goals/abilities showing the planning that Holly clearly puts in. The environment is calm, patient and collaborative which I find really important in helping me getting over a level of reservedness to help me really go for it when singing. The feedback Holly provides is accurate and informative and explained in a way I can understand and apply. Throughout this Holly places a genuine emphasis on honing rather than changing my style which is really important to my goals. Lessons are well summarised after and I finish with a clear point of focus and the resources I need to practice ahead of the next lesson.

All of this is reflected in the progress I've made so far . If you're looking for a calm, effective, well-tailored coach to really bring out your style then give Holly a shout - if my experience is anything to go by you will be pleased you did.

Perfect! holly has a good understanding of singing and her warmup was very beneficial to the lesson which I mentioned to her mid way and she also had lots of feedback from the material I provided for her for me to work on outside of the lesson which was very helpful
