About Ryan
I am a professional engineer who, whilst specialising in energy production, has a varied career background (including working in the space industry as a Satellite Controller). I utilise my knowledge of mathematics and principles of physics in my job every day.
During my time in engineering, I have also helped to tutor friends and family in mathematics and physics specifically, assisting with one student who was struggling in their higher (a-level) mathematics and taking them to a solid passing grade.
My tutoring experience is with the Scottish Curriculum for Mathematics and Physics up to Higher level.

My methodology in tutoring follows the following steps:
1) Understand the student's needs and current level of understanding
2) Build a rapport with the student and understand their worries regarding the subject.
3) Engage in student-led lessons where we identify focus points for the student and build around their demonstrable understanding until all gaps are filled, adapting as their learning style requires.
4) Reinforcing improvement by undertaking test style questions (at the point that the student shows readiness) to boost their confidence and remove that mental hurdle.
