About Imogen
I am a dedicated Guitar tutor with 18 years of rich experience in teaching students from school level to college and working professionals. Over the 18 years, I have had the privilege of guiding hundreds of learners, each with different goals and learning speeds. My teaching philosophy is built on strong fundamentals, consistent practice, and positive encouragement.
I believe that every student can learn guitar successfully if they are guided step by step with patience and clarity. I focus on building a solid foundation through correct posture, finger strength exercises, chord clarity, rhythm accuracy, and scale practice. Once the basics are strong, I introduce advanced techniques such as lead guitar, improvisation, and stage performance skills. Many of my students have confidently performed in school annual days, college cultural festivals, corporate events, and music competitions. Some have even formed bands and started composing their own songs. I create a disciplined yet friendly learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their creativity. My goal is not only to teach guitar but also to build confidence, focus, and a deep love for music in every student.

My teaching style focuses on practical learning and performance readiness. I believe students learn faster when they apply concepts in real situations.
I communicate clearly and adapt my lessons to match each student’s learning style. Some students prefer theory-based learning, while others prefer learning through songs. I balance both approaches.
In addition to Guitar, I teach Music Theory fundamentals, Scale Application, Rhythm Techniques, Chord Progressions, Songwriting Basics, and Stage Performance Skills. I use real-life examples like studying live concerts and professional guitar solos to explain musical expression.
Lessons begin with strong basics such as chord clarity, timing control, and finger coordination. As students grow, we focus on improvisation, expression, and confidence on stage.
I encourage students to perform regularly, even in small settings. This builds confidence and improves musical communication.
