Hi, my name is Matt Northam and I am a professional musician from Oklahoma City, OK. I specialize in teaching guitar, especially rock music, and I combine that with my experience as a high school teacher to make me a patient, kind, relatable musician and teacher. I'm laid back and I love music.

Hi, as your guitar teacher I will put you in charge of the direction we go. If you want to learn country, sounds great! If you want to learn rock, alright with me, too! If you want to learn how to read music, awesome! I'm laid back. I like to have fun and enjoy music.
My typical lesson plan will teach essential techniques a guitar player should know, followed by a song which incorporates the new technique. While we introduce these new techniques, we will hone our skills through practice and adjustments. All throughout the lesson we will discuss theory and maximizing different areas of your playing.
I am an enthusiastic lover of music who believes that music is something all people are capable of making. I am encouraging, hard working, and kind, always.
The lessons are for any skill level, so if you have played for a few days, or played for decades, please inquire if you are interested.
