I’m Simon Anderson, a professional photographer with over 20 years of experience in commercial and advertising photography. My work spans food, automotive, industrial, portrait, and product photography, and I’ve had the privilege of working with leading brands to create compelling visual content. I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge because photography is more than just technical skills—it’s about storytelling, creativity, and problem-solving. Teaching allows me to help aspiring photographers develop confidence in their craft, refine their techniques, and navigate the industry with real-world insights. Whether you’re a beginner looking to master the basics or an experienced photographer wanting to sharpen your skills, my goal is to provide practical, hands-on learning that empowers you to take your photography to the next level. As a professional photographer with over 20 years of experience in commercial and advertising photography, my tutoring approach is hands-on and tailored to each student's skill level and goals.
I focus on practical, real-world techniques used in professional photography.
My lessons cover:
Lighting Mastery – from natural to studio lighting setups.
Composition & Framing – creating impactful images.
Camera Settings & Equipment – using gear effectively and being comfortable with your equipment.
Lighting - Understanding Flash, Continuous (LED HMI and Tungsten) and Natural light
Post-Production – editing techniques in Photoshop/Capture One.
Industry Insights – working with clients, branding, and portfolio building.
Lessons are a mix of theory and practical exercises, ensuring students develop confidence in both shooting and post-production.
Lesson Length
Sessions typically run 1.5 to 2 hours, allowing enough time for both instruction and hands-on practice. Longer workshops can be arranged for more in-depth training. Whether you're a hobbyist or aiming for a career in photography, my lessons are designed to provide the skills and confidence needed to elevate your work.
Experience & Qualifications
With a strong background in commercial, automotive, food, industrial, and portrait photography, I bring real-world industry experience. I have worked with major brands and bring insights that go beyond technical skills—helping students understand the business and creative side of photography.
