About Oliver
I offer one-to-one private tuition for anybody who is interested in creating better pictures and learning about photography. I teach beginners and intermediate photographers all the way up to advanced studio techniques, utilising strobe (flash) photography. If you are thinking of setting up a photography business or a home studio with the aim of offering professional portraiture or headshots, I can consult on the best technical options for you and devise a learning and equipment plan that suits your budget.
I am an expert practitioner in Photoshop and digital post-production, having used this application for over 25 years. I can help you understand the basics of creating a library, tethered shooting in Capture One, post-processing in RAW, basic re-touching techniques and grading, right up to high-end retouching and image manipulation. I can also accompany and guide you through location shoots if required.

I am available to tutor students privately at their own home and have done so successfully for the last few years. I know the photography A Level very well, having taught it at Sixth Form and have taken both my children through the two year course. As an art-director as well, I have developed many graphic visual teaching aids which help guide you through the essential elements of becoming a better photographer and indeed help you achieve the highest marks if you are going through an exam or course. Photography has two key elements; one - the creative side and most importantly, two - the technical side. You can have the most creative idea but if you don't know how to achieve it, you are stuck. I can help you realise your vision.
