About Morgan

Professionally trained at Trinity College of Music, London, I spent years playing all round the Capital. Nowadays, I focus purely on my piano teaching practice, where I divide time between Stroud, in Gloucestershire and London. With over 20 years of teaching experience, I am proud of my record and have successfully prepared countless students for their ABRSM piano exams, in Classical & Jazz grades 1-8. I have a 100% pass rate with the majority of my students gaining Merits & Distinctions to boot! I teach children & adults, from beginners to advanced and lessons will be personally tailored to your requirements. I aim to bring out your best in an approachable, supportive and encouraging manner.

About the lesson

Down to earth & personable, I aim to inspire the best in my students. Every student is unique and with my broad appreciation of genre & style, we will find the perfect method to suit your needs. Beginner lessons are focused on getting you and the piano well acquainted, allowing you to feel at ease and where you will gain confidence, faster than you think. Intermediate lessons will focus on how you play and how you want to play. We will focus on what you already know and where you want to be. Repertoire will be chosen in collaboration to suit your level but with added challenge, to get you energised and confident. For advanced students, we will focus on detail - allowing the music to truly sing; where technique, interpretation and inherent musicality all have their place. Students at this level will be expected to have a solid foundation with a clear rationale for their performance aspiration.

I am so delighted to recommend Morgan to you!
He is an excellent and friendly piano tutor, who in just a few months, has enabled me to improve my playing ability, confidence and musical knowledge significantly! I always look forward to our next session and as a result enjoy the piano so much more now.
Morgan is clearly a performance pianist with a huge depth of musical knowledge, yet he is able to adapt his teaching style very well to an untrained novice like me! Thank you so much for your patience Morgan and for inspiring me to improvise and play better and better!

I have been having piano lessons with Morgan since September 2022 and I can wholeheartedly recommend him. I love my piano lessons and can hardly believe that at the age of 49 I am able to play simple pieces. I am hoping to take my Grade 1 exam this year! Morgan is very professional and an amazing pianist. He is an extremely patient and skilled teacher . He is also friendly, kind, encouraging and has a great sense of humour.

Morgan has been tutoring my son, Nathan, age 15, for a year or so. to quote Nathan "the lessons are ALWAYS great". We live in the same town as Morgan and he comes to our house every week so I'm around and hear the lessons which are amazing - not only does Morgan play the best jazz, he is a fantastic teacher - adapting to Nathan's interests and needs for both the pleasure of playing and for his GCSE music exam coming up. Nathan plays all the time (I don't really see it as just practice time any more) and I never have to nudge him. Morgan has made a massive difference to his pleasure, understanding and motivation. I can't recommend him more highly. Nick

Morgan is very professional at all times, he has a very warm manner and helped me develop my skills through our lessons. I was very nervous that I would get something wrong but he put my mind at ease with his method of teaching.
I would highly recommend him, especially if you are a new beginner.
