About Oyeon

I enjoy teaching because I believe music should be both enjoyable and properly understood, rather than simply memorised or imitated. My goal is to help students build a strong and reliable foundation from the beginning, so they can develop independence and confidence in their learning.

I place particular emphasis on music reading, technique, and healthy voice production, as I believe these are essential for long-term progress and safe musical development. With my experience in both performance and teaching, I understand how to guide students step by step in a clear and structured way.

I also believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit each individual’s level, pace, and goals. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can enjoy music, express themselves, and steadily improve over time.

About the lesson

Hello I’m Helia

I am a professionally trained musician, having graduated from a music university in Korea and completed a diploma in choral conducting in Italy.

I am currently based in West London, where I work as the principal conductor of a Korean choir in London. Alongside my conducting work, I run a private studio offering both piano and vocal lessons, as well as music theory, for children and adults.

In addition to teaching, I am also active as a solo performer, regularly taking part in concerts. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I have developed a strong understanding of vocal technique and vocal anatomy, allowing me to guide students with a focus on healthy voice production and safe vocal development.

I have experience working with a wide range of students, from young beginners to those preparing for exams and entrance auditions. My teaching approach focuses on building solid foundations, including music reading, technique, and overall musical understanding.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals, creating a supportive and engaging environment where students can develop confidence, independence, and enjoyment in music.

Lessons at your home are available, and a travel fee may apply depending on location.
