About Maarten
I am a Dutch saxophonist living in Chennai for more than 20 years - practicing, playing, composing, rehearsing, teaching, leading a jazz workshop and whatever else musicians do to make a living.
I have taught students of all ages and skill levels, with a wide variety of musical preferences.

Classes are for students of all levels. From beginners - where we will not only talk about embouchure, breathing, posture, etc but also about the music you would like to play - to more experienced players with perhaps an interest in refining their improvisational capabilities or engage special techniques. If you're interest is more with western classical saxophone, we will take that route and work on reading and interpretation.
My conservatory degree is in saxophone - contemporary improvised music, besides that I have always had a strong interest in western classical music on saxophone as well.
