About Ian

My students have been cast in musical productions at both professional and community theaters, won awards from regional singing competitions, and received scholarship offers from universities with nationally recognized performing arts programs. I hold a master's degree in voice performance from Indiana University. I have performed with prestigious ensembles such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Grant Park Symphony, Florentine Opera Company, Indianapolis Opera, Asheville Lyric Opera, and the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra in shows such as South Pacific, West Side Story, Man of La Mancha, Lucia di Lammermoor, and much more.

About the lesson

If you struggle with singing high notes, or vocal stamina, then I'm your guy! I take a balanced approach to teaching voice that will have you singing easily, beautifully, and comfortably in any genre and style.

Lessons are for all ages 7 and up for all levels of singing.

Ian effortlessly facilitates an energized, encouraging atmosphere for the lessons he teaches. It has been indescribably valuable to study under someone who is an active professional in the Chicago music scene, and his thoughtful, comprehensive approach to music has helped me not only refine my performance ability, but also expand it in new and exciting directions. It has been an absolute privilege to learn from him and I’m excited to see where I go from here, musically-speaking, under his expert tutelage.
