About Tom

I've been working as a professional software engineer for 1.5 years now. I mostly work in Python and Javascript day-to-day, but I've got varying levels of experience with dozens of other languages and frameworks. Am happy to pick up them up as needed! I also have a Computer Science degree and experience with other related tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Prometheus.

About the lesson

I'm still very new to tutoring, but my basic methodology is very practical-focused - In my view there's no substitute for the process of continually getting stuck and unstuck (with support don't worry!) while writing code.

I'm also a big fan of getting people to verbalise what they're doing to me. Explaining code back to someone is really rapid way to find out if you've understood it!

Happy to customise all parts of my approach to your needs, this is a learning experience for both of us! :D
