About Oscar

Currently, I teach trumpet at Dulwich College School. My previous roles include teaching at Kings College School, Wimbledon and the London Youth Conservatoire, where I worked with students aged 6-18.

My passion for teaching developed during my time at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I delivered workshops and participated in interactive concerts at schools lacking music education and funding. This experience ignited my desire to share the joy of music with others.

I’ve had the privilege of studying under some of the best pedagogues for trumpet graduating from the Guildhall School of Music with BMus First Class Honours and MMus Distinction from the Hochschule für Musik, Hannover. I’m committed to sharing the knowledge I’ve gained in a fun and engaging manner, catering to students of all ages and abilities.

Professional Experience
 In addition to my teaching, I have a diverse performance background, playing with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra. I have also recorded for television, working on productions such as X Factor and Peaky Blinders. Earlier this year, I released my solo CD, Nexus, which received critical acclaim from Gramophone and the British Music Society. These experiences enrich my teaching with real-world insights, helping you see the possibilities of what you can achieve!

About the lesson

I offer friendly, personalised trumpet lessons designed around each student’s goals, whether you’re a complete beginner, preparing for auditions or grades, or returning to the instrument after time away. I hold a Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance and work as a professional freelance trumpet player and teacher in London, alongside currently teaching at Dulwich College. My lessons combine strong technical foundations with a musical, practical approach shaped by real performing experience. Lessons are available in 30- or 60-minute sessions and focus on sound, confidence, technique, breathing, musicality, and enjoying the instrument. I teach all ages and levels, and always aim to make lessons supportive, engaging, and motivating.
