About Samantha
I work currently as an Instructor Therapist, particularly with children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
I work with the kiddos, particularly on academic skills such as reading, writing, math, and other subjects.
Prior to this, I worked as a tutor in high school and university in many different subjects.
I will work at your child's level and go at a pace to make sure they understand the theory of what is being taught and they are confident in that subject.
The goal is to see your child succeed and be confident in themselves and everything they do.

Teaching addition and subtraction to your 6-year-old.
I would test if the child can count and if they can move on to addition and subtraction.
Addition:
5 + 1 =? or 5
+1
I would test if they knew the answer, if not then teach them a way how they could get the answer.
Draw 5 dots beside the five
Draw 1 dot beside the one
Count up all the dots and what answer did you get? 6 Write the answer.
I would repeat the equation again (5+1equals ?) have the child say the answer and move on to the next equation and repeat the same process.
I would work with a sum up to 10 then move on to 20 and such until we could do larger numbers.
