About Chiara
I am a professional neuroscientist and biologist currently pursuing my PhD, with a completed MSc and BSc (Honors). Having achieved a 7 in IB Biology during my own IB journey, I understand the program's unique demands and opportunities. With over 5 years of tutoring experience, including working with specialized agencies, I have helped numerous IB students excel in Biology. My background in neuroscience and biology, combined with my passion for teaching, allows me to create engaging, tailored lessons that empower students to reach their goals. I am committed to making complex biological concepts accessible and supporting students every step of the way on their IB journey.

Having completed the IB program myself, I understand the challenges and expectations it presents. My experience as both a student and a tutor of IB Biology has given me the insight to guide students toward success.
My teaching style is flexible and student-centered. While I tailor my methods to individual learning needs, my general approach is organized, structured, and empowering. I break down complex topics into manageable sections, use real-world examples to enhance understanding, and encourage active participation. I emphasize understanding core concepts and applying them effectively in assessments.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previously covered material and clarification of any lingering questions. We then move to the main topic, using visual aids, diagrams, and practice questions. I encourage interactive discussions to solidify understanding. Each session ends with a brief summary and actionable takeaways, including suggestions for independent study.
Having firsthand experience with the IB curriculum and having successfully tutored numerous IB students, I bring a unique perspective. I understand the rigor and intricacies of the program and can guide students not only academically but also in managing stress and workloads. My sessions are designed to build confidence and foster independence in learning.
These lessons are tailored for high school students pursuing the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, specifically those studying IB Biology (Standard or Higher Level). Whether you're aiming to improve specific skills, grasp challenging concepts, or excel in internal assessments and exams, I’m here to help. I am also happy to help students in AP or general biology to understand concepts, or do SAT prep with specific regards to biology questions.
