About Roux

Hello! My name is Gerhardus Roux, but most of my students know me as Jerry. I’m an experienced and passionate English teacher from South Africa with over 20 years of teaching experience, both in the classroom and online. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education, a TEFL certificate, and an IELTS Teacher Training Certificate. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with learners of all ages and nationalities — from young children just beginning their language journey to adults preparing for exams like IELTS, TOEFL, or Cambridge English. My approach is supportive, interactive, and student-centered. I believe in creating a comfortable, engaging environment where learners can build their confidence and make real progress. Whether you need help with conversation, grammar, exam preparation, or academic writing, I tailor my lessons to suit your goals and learning style. About the lesson

I am a certified English teacher from South Africa with over 20 years of teaching experience in both physical classrooms and online environments. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education, along with a TEFL certificate and an IELTS Teacher Training Certificate. Over the years, I have taught English to students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including children, teens, and adults at various proficiency levels.

My teaching experience spans international schools, universities, and online platforms where I’ve specialized in general English, academic writing, IELTS preparation, and business communication. I’ve worked in South Africa, Vietnam, and globally, helping learners reach their personal, academic, and professional goals.

I focus on creating engaging, personalized lessons that build confidence, fluency, and accuracy. My classes are interactive, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs — whether they’re preparing for exams, improving conversation skills, or mastering grammar and vocabulary.
