About Isla
I hold a B.Sc in Computer Science and an M.Sc in Software Engineering, with 8 years of experience teaching students at all levels. My methodology emphasises practical learning, conceptual clarity, and personalised guidance. I create an engaging environment that encourages experimentation, mistakes as learning opportunities, and growth. Each lesson is designed to help learners internalise programming principles while developing confidence and independence. I focus on step-by-step explanations, real-world examples, and project-based learning to strengthen both conceptual understanding and practical skills. My approach nurtures logical thinking, algorithmic reasoning, and problem-solving abilities, ensuring students gain competence and confidence in coding. Computer programming lessons focus on transforming abstract logic into functioning software. Intermediate learners develop modular code, explore data structures, optimise algorithms, and work on collaborative projects. Advanced learners tackle API integration, complex projects, algorithmic optimisation, and interview preparation exercises. Each lesson combines practical work, guided explanation, and incremental challenges to build competence and self-assurance. Learning programming enhances analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and creative problem-solving beyond coding itself. Students gain skills to build projects, understand software systems, and approach technical challenges with confidence.
