About Maeve
My interest in programming began during my M.Sc in Computer Science, where I discovered the ability to create solutions through logical reasoning. Over eight years, I have taught students across skill levels, focusing on building confidence, analytical skills, and independent problem-solving abilities. I enjoy fostering curiosity, creativity, and technical competence in every student. I emphasize understanding the underlying principles of programming rather than rote memorization. Step-by-step guidance, hands-on exercises, and project-based learning help students build mastery and independence. Many learners initially feel unsure, and I guide them to develop competence, confidence, and enthusiasm for programming. Outside teaching, I explore emerging technologies, coding techniques, and real-world applications. I incorporate these insights into lessons, making learning relevant, practical, and engaging. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel empowered to learn, apply, and innovate with programming skills.

My programming lessons begin with foundational concepts such as variables, loops, conditions, and basic functions. Beginners learn to write structured code, debug effectively, and develop logical thinking. As learners advance, I cover object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and project development. Lessons emphasize problem-solving, analytical thinking, and applying coding principles to real-world scenarios. Students create small projects, improve code efficiency, and understand the connections between theory and practical software development.
For advanced learners, lessons include complex algorithms, design patterns, API integration, and software project planning. Students practice multi-step problem-solving, debugging strategies, and optimizing code for efficiency. My goal is to help learners develop technical mastery, creativity, and critical thinking skills applicable in academics and professional contexts.
