About Serena
My journey in programming began with curiosity about how code can create meaningful tools and solutions. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Computer Science and an M.Sc in Software Engineering, combining strong technical knowledge with applied software development. Over 9 years, I have mentored learners in programming, software design, and logical thinking, helping them build confidence and practical skills.
I emphasize patience, clarity, and adaptability in teaching. Lessons include hands-on coding exercises, stepwise explanations, problem-solving challenges, and iterative feedback. I encourage learners to explore independently, understand underlying logic, and develop structured thinking, rather than relying on memorization.
Beyond teaching, I stay engaged with programming trends, open-source projects, and new technologies, bringing relevant insights into the classroom. Witnessing students progress from uncertainty to confidently designing and executing code is highly rewarding. My goal is to nurture learners who think critically, code effectively, and apply computational thinking across challenges.

Programming becomes meaningful when learners understand how abstract logic transforms into functional applications. My lessons cover Python, Java, algorithms, object-oriented programming, data structures, and practical software projects. I emphasize conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and hands-on coding, fostering confidence and independent thinking. Learners are encouraged to experiment, debug, and explore creative solutions in a supportive environment.
Lesson plans are tailored to proficiency levels. Beginners focus on fundamental concepts like variables, loops, and basic functions to build strong foundations. Intermediate learners work with modular code, data structures, algorithms, and small-scale projects to develop analytical thinking. Advanced learners explore full-stack development, APIs, software architecture, and optimization techniques, preparing them for academic or professional programming challenges. Each session combines explanation, live coding, practice exercises, and feedback to ensure progressive learning and mastery.
Computer programming lessons strengthen logical reasoning, structured thinking, and problem-solving skills. Students gain confidence in coding, design, and algorithmic analysis. My goal is to equip learners with practical skills, creativity, and the ability to approach coding challenges independently, helping them excel academically and professionally.
