About Lila
I hold a B.Sc in Computer Science and an M.Sc in Software Engineering, with 7 years of experience teaching programming at various levels, from beginners to advanced learners. My teaching philosophy centres on clarity, structure, practical application, and encouragement. I aim to make programming accessible, engaging, and intellectually stimulating while fostering creativity, problem-solving, and resilience. Lessons incorporate coding exercises, projects, debugging sessions, and algorithm challenges, tailored to each student’s goals, pace, and learning style. I emphasise understanding the logic behind programming concepts, encouraging students to think independently, experiment, and develop confidence. Practical projects and real-world examples help students see the relevance of programming skills in diverse contexts. Outside teaching, I continue to explore programming through personal projects, emerging technologies, and research into new methodologies. Integrating these experiences enriches lessons and helps students connect classroom learning to professional and real-world applications. Witnessing learners grow from uncertainty to confidence and competence is highly rewarding, and drives my ongoing passion for teaching computer programming with patience, insight, and dedication.

Beginners explore foundational concepts such as variables, loops, conditionals, and simple functions. Intermediate students develop modular programming skills, debugging techniques, and small project execution. Advanced learners tackle complex algorithms, project planning, optimisation, and integration of multiple programming paradigms. Each session is structured to build confidence, encourage curiosity, and ensure mastery of coding concepts. Programming strengthens logical reasoning, structured problem-solving, and computational thinking. Students gain confidence in designing, debugging, and executing programs independently. My goal is to nurture adaptable, self-sufficient coders who can approach challenges creatively, apply their knowledge in practical contexts, and develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning in software development.
