All students beginning tutoring are assessed prior to starting lessons. This initial assessment allows for a clear understanding of each learner’s current level, strengths, and areas for development. Using this information, I identify key focus areas and design structured, personalised lessons that are targeted, effective, and aligned with curriculum and examination requirements. This approach ensures that tuition is purposeful, measurable, and tailored to support sustained progress.

About the lesson

I am a highly experienced and dedicated teacher with over sixteen years of successful teaching practice across both primary and secondary education. As a Maths specialist, I have developed a strong track record of supporting learners of all abilities to achieve academic progress and build confidence in their mathematical understanding. I hold a Law degree alongside a Postgraduate Qualification in Teaching (QTS), which has strengthened my analytical approach, subject knowledge, and commitment to high professional standards. My diverse academic background enables me to bring clarity, structure, and critical thinking into my teaching practice, particularly when preparing students for formal assessments. I am skilled in delivering well-planned, differentiated lessons that are tailored to meet the individual needs of each learner. I place a strong emphasis on inclusive practice, ensuring that all pupils are supported and challenged appropriately, including those with additional needs and those working towards higher attainment. My teaching is firmly curriculum-focused, with a clear understanding of examination board requirements. I have extensive experience in GCSE preparation, ensuring students are confident with exam techniques, problem-solving strategies, and subject-specific language. I am committed to maintaining high expectations and using assessment effectively to inform planning and drive progress. Above all, I am passionate about education and committed to creating a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment where students feel supported, motivated, and empowered to succeed.
