About Maaya
I am a dedicated English educator with over four years of teaching experience working with K–12 students across British Columbia. I am a fourth-year International Relations and Law & Society student at the University of British Columbia, where I have been recognized with departmental scholarships for academic excellence. I will be attending law school next year and am deeply passionate about environmental law and advocacy. I am committed to creating a respectful, encouraging, and structured learning environment where students feel capable of success.

My teaching approach is student-centred, structured, and adaptive. I focus on identifying each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style before tailoring lessons accordingly. I also emphasize critical thinking and confidence-building, helping students not only complete assignments but understand why and how to improve.
What sets me apart is my combination of strong academic performance, teaching experience, and curriculum development background. I have taught across multiple grade levels in British Columbia and am experienced in adapting lessons for diverse learners, including multilingual students.
