About Olivia

My name is Olivia and I love learning! I am excited to be given the opportunity to meet amazing children and young people and to support them in their learning journey. Whatever the goals are - to feel more confident in class, to boost grades, or get into that dream school - I can tailor a bespoke learning intervention to support a young person's development.

Outside of tutoring I am working as a Trainee Clinical Psychologist. This means I talk to young people about their thoughts and feelings, including things that might be getting in the way of them doing their best at school and beyond. I love doing what I can to make school and education a more inviting and inspiring place for young people. I also love musical theatre, dancing, sports and TV!

About the lesson

My tutoring methodology is inclusive and integrative, taking from psychological theories of learning and child development to tailor a bespoke tuition plan for each individual child. I work within children's strengths and identify individual goals so that progress can be made towards preferred outcomes. Every child has the right to feel supported and seen in their education journey and I ensure each child I work with is worked with holistically.

I have 1.5 years experience of tutoring English at KS2, KS3 and GCSE level both in-person and remotely. After sitting the 11+ and attending grammar school, I studied English Literature at A Level and went on to complete a BSc (first-class) and MSc (distinction) in Psychology. I am currently training as a Clinical Psychologist and have over 4.5 years of experience working clinically with children and young people.

I provide flexible, child-centred tuition guided by compassion and encouragement. I have extensive experience working with neurodiversity (autism, ADHD, AuDHD) and other additional needs (including English as an Additional Language, sensory impairments, etc).
