About Suzanna
I have two years experience tutoring language at both primary school and high school levels using the CAPS and IEB curricula. I am punctual, well-prepared, adaptable, patient, empathetic, enthusiastic and passionate. I have strong communication, motivational, listening, problem-solving, and rapport-building skills. I excelled at English Home Language in school which served me well in obtaining my undergraduate and honors degree in psychology. My degrees have offered me valuable insight into child and adolescent development, early childhood education, learning disabilities and children's emotional well-being. I believe that every child has the ability to succeed given the necessary support, and hope to contribute to this through my tutoring.

I offer lessons both online and in-person at students' residences within northern and western Johannesburg. I am an avid reader and writer who is passionate about language, learning, and working with children of all ages. I aim to tailor my tutoring approach to each student based on their grade, age, interests, strengths, learning style, and subject-specific challenges faced by students.
My students can expect me to:
- Be well-prepared with a lesson plan for each session and long-term plan for ongoing progress
- Engage ongoingly with both students and parents to fine-tune the tutoring approach and to monitor progress
- Use both structured and spontaneous activities geared towards addressing learning gaps and strengthening proficiency
- Be understanding, supportive, encouraging, and firm in ensuring an environment and tutor-student relationship conducive to learning
